LEO-MTS has been approved by Mattel for the testing of 18 in 19 sorts heavy metals of Category III: Scraped-off materials

It is our pleasure to announce that LEO-MTS has been approved by Mattel for the screening test of 18 sorts heavy metals in Category III: Scraped-off materials of the new EU Toy Safety Directive on August 14, 2012.

LEO-MTS lab can offer test for heavy metals in Category III: Scraped-off materials. The testing scope as below:

◆ Category III: Scraped-off materials: 

heavy metals: Aluminium; Antimony; Arsenic; Barium; Boron; Cadmium; Chromium; Cobalt; Copper; Lead; Manganese; Mercury; Nickel; Selenium; Strontium; Zinc; Tin.
When soluble Tin >2.5ppm, the test of Organic Tin must submit to the appointed lab.
General requirement for Cr VI has not determined yet.

◆ LEO-MTS cannot do the test for below materials:

Category I: Dry, brittle, powder-like or pliable toy materials.
Category II: Liquid or sticky toy materials.

After the recognition of Mattel, LEO-MTS can now conduct 18 sorts of heavy metals testing for scraped-off materials in toys.
