中文 NEWSupdate:2012-06-13NO.: DOC120602-01EU EXPANDS CMR LIST UNDER ANNEX XVII OF REACHThe list of carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic to reproduction substances (CMR) has been expanded under REACH. The effective date for these newly added CMR substances categories 1A and 1B is 1 June 2012. Background: In May 2007, the list of CMR substances categories 1A and 1B, formerly categories 1and 2, under entries 28-30 (Appendix 1-6) of ANNEX XVII of REACH was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). Under entries 28-30 of ANNEX XVII of REACH, these CMR substances or mixtures containing them in concentrations above specified limits are prohibited to be sold to the general public. Under Article 68 (2) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, restrictions may be proposed on the consumer use of CMR substances categories 1A and 1B. These substances can be on their own, in a mixture or in an article. On 10 February 2012, the list of CMR substances categories 1A and 1B has been widely expanded by Regulation (EU) 109/2012. This amendment aligns the CMR substances under Regulation (EC) 790/2009, amendment to Regulation on Classification, Labeling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP Regulation).
