Russia implements new Technical Regulations for Safety of Products Intended for Children and Teenagers

The No. 307 government order about product safety technical operation designated for children was signed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on April 7, 2009, and came into effect from January 1, 2012. The act was officially called the “Technical Regulations for Safety of Products Intended for Children and Teenagers”.

The regulation formulate detail safety technical requirements for children products, the product category of this regulation covers toys, child care products ( nipples, pacifiers , utensils , tableware , health care products and daily household articles, toothbrush and gum massage ) , clothing , textile fabrics , fur and leather products, knitwear , finished textile products , shoes and leather furnishings , children carts and bicycles , as well as publications (textbooks , books , magazines ), electronic teaching publications and student stationery , and applicable for the products used by children under 18 years old. According to Russian regulations, toys and children's products exported to Russia must comply with the procedures requirements, and must have the Russian GOSTR certification and pasted with traded logo. The Russian regulatory authorities implement national inspection (supervision) on the products’ compliance with the requirements of technical regulations.
