Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 Will Take Effect Soon

From July 22, 2019, the Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 concerning electrical and electronic equipment articles will take effect. This directive introduces the requirement for four phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP) used as softeners in various plastic parts of electrical and electronic equipment articles to amends 2011/65/EU (RoHS). There will be 10 restricted substances in 2011/65/EU (RoHS), and please check the limit of each substance in the table as below:

Cadmium (Cd)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Mercury (Hg)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Hexavalent Chromium (Cr 6+)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)	0.1% (1000 ppm)
