EU amended the prohibition of allergenic fragrances in toys

On 11 December 2020, EU published the directive (EU) 2020/2089 amending Annex II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the prohibition of allergenic fragrances in toys. They shall apply those provisions from 5 July 2022.

In Part III of Annex II to 2009/48/EC, point 11 is amended as follows:

(1) in the first paragraph, in the table, the following entries are added:

(2) in the third paragraph, in the table, entry 10 is deleted.

Now, the number of allergenic fragrances in the ‘Prohibited List’ contains 58 substances and the number of allergenic fragrances in the ‘Labeling List’ contains 71 substances.
