Public consultation on two proposals to identify new substances of very high concern
On March 9, 2017, ECHA launched a public consultation on new proposals to identify new 2 chemicals as substances of very high concern (SVHCs). All interested parties are invited to submit comments on such reports during the public consultation. The deadline for submitting information is April 24, 2017. The SVHCs candidate list will expand to 174 if the new two chemicals are accepted.

Please note Bisphenol A was included in the SVHC candidate list on January 12, 2017, based on its classification of Repr. 1B according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and it is now additionally recommended for SVHC listing due to its endocrine disrupting properties in accordance with Article 57(f) of REACH for effects in relation to human health.
